GME Resident Global Health Travel Scholarship

This award is given annually to residents who have shown dedication to global health over the course of their education.

Scholarship Recipients

Leverant Scholarship

This endowment was established to support the University of Arizona College of Medicine Global Health Program. The curricula and field opportunities expose students to rigorous, evidence-based, interdisciplinary clinical and public health care under the resource constraints typically found in developing nations. Students apply their developing medical knowledge to health care situations around the world, learning from colleagues and global health experts abroad.  This scholarship is awarded to 1st year medical students who meet the qualifying criteria.

Mulcahy Scholarship

In 1976, Mr. Mulcahy founded this scholarship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine for student experiences in international health. John A. “Jack” Mulcahy, a local businessman, owned and operated the Mulcahy Lumber Company which he established in 1925.  He was a civic leader who served on many non- profit boards.  This scholarship is awarded to 4th year medical students who meet the qualifying criteria.
