2024 GRANT

Leverant Global Health Endowment

This endowment was established to support the University of Arizona College of Medicine Global Health Program.  The curricula and field opportunities expose students to rigorous, evidence-based, interdisciplinary clinical and public health care under the resource constraints typically found in developing nations. Students apply their developing medical knowledge to health care situations around the world, learning from colleagues and global health experts abroad.

Mulcahy Scholarship

In 1976, Mr. Mulcahy founded this scholarship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine for student experiences in international health. John A. “Jack” Mulcahy, a local businessman, owned and operated the Mulcahy Lumber Company which he established in 1925.  He was a civic leader who served on many non- profit boards.

Ronald Pust Endowment

This endowment was established to support medical students with their international experiences. Dr. Pust’s 47-year career as a global health physician interfaced curriculum development with teaching, and field research with clinical practice. Joining the Department of Family & Community Medicine in 1979, he designed the interdisciplinary Arizona course, “Global Health: Clinical & Community Care” (https://globalhealth.arizona.edu/), retitled Global Health Intensive Course in 2022. Dr. Pust retired in 2018, but remains active in the Hansen’s Clinic, teaching, and advocating for global health.
