
Noshene E. Ranjbar, MD 2025 Ron & Karen Pust Faculty Global Health Award Recipient
Dr. Ranjbar is Associate Professor of Psychiatry, board certified in adult, adolescent, and child psychiatry, as well as integrative medicine. Dr. Ranjbar is deeply committed to furthering global health efforts. Dr. Ranjbar is a Native of Iran, a graduate of the University of Virginia Medical School and is now a respected leader providing training, mentoring, and publication in culturally attuned and trauma-informed support for asylees/refugees. Dr. Ranjbar has developed a train-the-trainer initiative for Farsi-speaking individuals in collaboration with The Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM). Dr. Ranjbar and colleagues have trained >180 Farsi-speaking persons who continue to facilitate groups/workshops within Iran and across the worldwide Diaspora. She has also supported professional training for 800+ individuals serving 35+ Indigenous Communities across North, Central, and South America. From supporting Native populations in Arizona and beyond, to work in the Middle East and the fractured diaspora of her homelands, to serving oppressed and underserved persons and populations in general, Dr. Ranjbar’s efforts have consistently demonstrated embodied compassion and a commitment to humanitarian service in medicine both locally and across the globe.
