Coming to the College of Medicine and to global health from the unique perspective of an intensive care nurse, Ashley Pickering, RN, BS, is also pursuing an MPH degree at the University of Arizona. Like Nehal Shah in 2006-2007, Ashley was a dynamic co-leader of the medical student Global Health Forum in 2015-2016. Her next journey in global health took Ashley to Uganda, working with the Global Emergency Care Collaborative, mentored by Dr. Bradley Dreifuss, where she will continue her global health track and MPH education by working with Ugandan advanced-practice nurses to bring emergency care skills to district hospitals of the Uganda Ministry of Health.
