Stephen Crabbe, 2020 Nehal Shah Memorial Global Health Award

In addition to being a leader like Nehal in the Global Health Forum, for the past year Stephen Crabbe has led the AMA Western US Medical Student Committee on Public & Global Health, developing a report on refugees’ access to health insurance in the USA. He also served as Co-Chair of the College of Medicine’s Refugee Clinic.
Stephen brings eight years’ post-college experience to his developing career in clinical global health, including managing the successful eradication of dracunculiasis [Guinea worm] in an area of over 4,000 villages in South Sudan with the Carter Center in 2012-2014. In Tucson, Stephen was a science teacher in Sunnyside High School in 2008-2009.
