Jaylee Caruso, MD - 2025 Tracy Carroll Resident Global Health Award
Dr. Jaylee Caruso has demonstrated a strong commitment to global health through both hands-on clinical work and ongoing advocacy. As a third-year resident, she spent a month in Nkololo, Tanzania, working at Songambele—a rural hospital serving a local tribal population. She was able to enhance her skills in recognizing and treating tropical diseases and work in an environment with limited resources. She also completed a one-month rotation in Riobamba, Ecuador, with the Cachamsi Medical Spanish Institute. These international experiences have broadened her understanding of global health challenges and deepened her dedication to improving care in underserved communities.
