Residency Programs Distinction Tracks

Welcome to all Residents. Congratulations on your decision to use your training in a medical setting in a Low & Middle Income Country [LMIC].  More and more residencies at the University of Arizona are including Global Health in their curriculum.

While the information on these pages are primarily for the Residency programs at the University of Arizona College of Medicine,  anyone is welcome to use the information we have gathered.

Several Residency programs at the University of Arizona College of Medicine have their own Global Health Distinction Tracks

Planning your rotation:

Look at the Leaning Sites tab where you will find several lists to help you. Follow this link

  • Organizations and Programs
  • Planning Resources for additional help
  • Financial assistance

These lists were compiled mainly for use by Medical Students but others are welcome to look through the lists and make contacts with the organizations and/or programs to find the right match for your level of education.

For those associated with the University of Arizona, we also have a passworded list of sites.  These are based on evaluations from students, residents, faculty and associates of Dr. Ron Pust, who have travelled to or have knowledge of the site.  The sites are sorted by country.  When a URL is available, it is listed for the most current information about the site.

Most of the sites at this time were evaluated by medical students but they either noted there were residents at the site or the program's website noted that residents or faculty were accepted.  When reviewing the evalutation, note the status of the evaluator at the time of the rotation.

Adding to our database:

Please log in and fill out an evaluation form after you complete your global health rotation.  Site evaluation
Here is a hard copy of the form to take with you so you have all the information upon your return
